Diamond jubilee !!

Was great to see the country get involved with the diamond jubilee !!! Lovely Jubbileeeeee !!

Even Middlesbrough got involved and hung their patriotic flags out in the streets. My family had a party where we all had to design and create our own crowns and i even went as far as creating my own bunting inspired top !!

It is amazing how many different patterns , surface prints and textiles came about from trying to follow this trend. The family made a great effort and fun was had by all , however it was a great boost for surface design   including many images that are associated with the royal event.

Durham / Harry Potter

Recognise it yet? Yep Harry potter!!

It is infact part of Durham Cathedral . Went here about a year ago and thought i had to add it to the list of places ive been that interest me and have taught me something.

Durham cathedral is such a wonder of beauty and maybe something to study in the future ?

Nottingham Eye

This picture was taken a number of years ago when i was at Nottingham Trent University. This was their version of the London Eye . It was great to see Nottingham from that height. However i thought this image i had taken from underneath the eye , really portrayed the beauty of the structure for those that weren't there ! This also portrays just how much work is in the structure of the Eye ! I think photo is striking with the white against the black but also how much information is on this picture.

Enjoy

Whitby photos

I went on a trip at the start of University to a nearby town called Whitby. I took these images with my iphone  camera. I think the quality of the images are good and both would look great at canvases or framed in a relatively plain room. Whitby was largely inspiring for architecture with it's typical seaside theme. The town is built on many levels but its cobbled streets brings the houses together. The path to reach the abbey at the top, snakes through the town so that visitors are forced to take in it's architecture as well as it's breath taking views.

The architecture is typical of a seaside town ; squat buildings, low ceilings, walls on a slant , stone or white exteriors and tudor windows.

I really enjoyed Whitby and it's hidden treasures !!

Hello again!!

Just thought it was about time that i came back on here and posted a few images that have caught my eye over the summer and i hope to use as inspiration in my work this year at uni.

Today i have been busy trying to sort some images out on my computer so i may have a few from years ago !!!

My inspiration includes images i have taken myself, that ive seen from other sites, taken from magazines , family websites and tv programmes. I hope you all enjoy the content of my inspiration.

A description will follow all images !!! Bare with me though as it may take a week to get it all down on here!

Much love x

Inspirational imagery

Treehouse in Japan - personally think this is really cool how the dimensions of it make it stand out . It stands out because it does not fit into it's surroundings and its out of context. I like how the tree is made out to be warped and emcompassing the house ,as if it has grown around it!

Just had to share!
